Sonamura Police Recover Large Quantity of Phensedyl

Agartala: Dec 19: Based on a tip-off, the Sonamura Police successfully recovered a large quantity of Phensedyl. The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonamura Police Station reported that they received intelligence indicating that narcotics might be trafficked through an Eco car with registration number TR-07C-0748 on the Kathalia-Bejimara road. Acting on this information, the police set up an ambush on the Kathalia-Bejimara road.

When the police signaled for the car to stop, the driver attempted to flee by turning the vehicle around. However, the police gave chase and managed to intercept the car. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered 600 bottles of Phensedyl hidden in six cartons. The driver of the vehicle, Soleman Mia, was arrested. He is a resident of the Bejimara area.

 

The market value of the recovered Phensedyl is estimated to be between 6 to 7 lakh rupees. An NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) case has been registered against the accused at the Sonamura Police Station. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
