Six Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested at Udaipur Railway Station

Agartala: Nov 09: On Friday night, the Railway Police at Udaipur Railway Station arrested six Bangladeshi nationals, including four children, one woman, and one man, after they were found standing suspiciously at the station. During interrogation, it was revealed that all six individuals were from Khulna district in Bangladesh.

The police further discovered that the group had crossed the barbed wire fence at Belonia to enter the state illegally. The arrested individuals claimed that they had come to India for medical treatment and were on their way to Chennai. Along with them, the police also arrested Mohammad Habibur, a smuggler from Nadia district in West Bengal, who was facilitating their illegal movement.

 

It is becoming increasingly common for individuals from Bangladesh to illegally enter Tripura due to the unstable situation in their home country. Many are subsequently transported to different parts of India by rail. The Railway Police and State Police are regularly apprehending such individuals as part of their ongoing efforts to curb illegal border crossings and human trafficking.

 

The six Bangladeshi nationals and the smuggler are currently under the supervision of RK Pur Police, pending further investigation.
