Agartala: August 29: In a protest against the election of the Pradhan and Up-Pradhan, seven Panchayat members of Purba Jelefa Gram Panchayat in Sabrum boycotted the scheduled swearing-in ceremony. The ceremony, which was supposed to take place at 11:30 AM today, was canceled due to their absence.

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) in-charge, Kamal Kanti Sen, along with the party’s Sabrum president, Jiten Tripura, and other leaders patiently waited until nearly 3 PM. Despite attempts to contact the absent members by phone, they did not turn up for the ceremony. Consequently, the leaders were compelled to leave the venue.
