Agartala: Feb 15: On February 16, the polling process for the Thirteenth Legislative Assembly elections will begin in Tripura. Police and paramilitary forces in charge of security along with responsible poll workers have left for various polling stations since Wednesday morning. State security has been strengthened to organize peaceful elections. Police and central paramilitary forces have been deployed across the state.On this day, the poll workers left for various centers in West District from Agartala Umakanta Academy School premises with various items including EVMs for the purpose of the polling station. Security personnel along with five poll workers left for the destination. Voting will start from 7 am tomorrow, Returning Officer Arup Dev said.He also said that there are two model polling centers in each centre. Female poll workers will be in charge of managing them. After the end of the polling period, will return to the Umakanta Academy school with the EVM machine and submit it, said the returning officer. He said that the overall situation is full of peace.There are 3,337 polling stations in the state, all of which will have central paramilitary forces deployed. For this, 400 companies of security forces have been brought to the state, the Election Commission said. CRPF, BSF, SSB, ITBT and 6 forces will be guarding the polling station. TSR, Assam, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Sikkim police will be deployed outside the polling station, said the commission. Double force will be deployed at polling stations that take more than 30 minutes to reach. Double security forces will be deployed in the border and security sensitive areas as well, said the National Election Commission.Police and paramilitary forces on security duty have left for their respective centres. The National Election Commission has undertaken all arrangements to organize peaceful elections.
