Agartala, July 23, 2024: In a sudden operation today, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) has raided various restaurants and sweet shops across Agartala city. Establishments including Abhishek Restaurant, The Park Line, and Mithai were inspected. The SDM has conducted thorough inspections of the kitchens and storage areas, checking the packing, sealing, and hygiene conditions of these establishments.
During the inspection of Abhishek Restaurant, the SDM  has discovered fermented soup, gravy, and unfried or uncooked chicken stored in the refrigerator with labels dated July 18. These items were being served to customers, raising serious health concerns. The SDM’s findings included improperly stored food items that had been kept for several days and served without proper preparation.
Following these violations, the SDM has temporarily closed Abhishek Restaurant to ensure the safety and health of the customers. The raid aimed to enforce strict compliance with health and safety regulations, and it highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards in food storage and preparation.
The inspections are part of an ongoing effort to ensure that food establishments in Agartala adhere to hygiene and safety norms. Further raids are expected in the coming days to ensure all establishments comply with the necessary standards to protect public health.
