Sadar SDM and Food Department conduct raid in different markets

Agartala, August 24: The price of onion in the markets is rampant in the state. That is why the Sadar sub-divisional magistrate and food department have launched an operation to control the price increase of onion. On this day, the Sadar sub-divisional magistrate and food department have conducted a raid in Durga Chaumuhani and Lake Choumuhani markets along with Battala market of the state.

On this day, raids were conducted mainly on onion shops in the market. Irregularities were noticed in several shops during the raid. A food department official said that a notice will be issued against the shop owners by the administration. Besides, it is said that a trader in the market was selling onions at the rate of Rs 50 instead of Rs 40 per kg.
