Paramilitary forces deployed in the area. It may be noted that after the announcement of the assembly election results on Thursday, political violence has been on the rise across the state, administration act like deaf.
On Friday afternoon, West District Governor Debapriya Bardhan issued section 144 expressing fear of untoward incident. Superintendent of Police Shankar Debnath has been ordered to control the situation with a strict hand. After the promulgation of section 144 from six in the evening, the streets were quiet. But political party activists and supporters were seen cheering and burning stakes on this day. In the meantime, incidents of political violence were seen in the Indranagar area of the city’s 6th Agartala assembly constituency. The booth office of the ruling party was demolished. Party workers came to notice on Saturday morning. In no time the situation became tense.
BJP workers came and blocked the main road of Indranagar. BJP workers alleged that they heard loud explosions during the night. The miscreants came to the booth office in the morning and smashed it. and salvaged the items that had been shot after the bomb went off. Congress and CPIM miscreants are behind this incident. A complaint has been made to the police mentioning the names of some miscreants in the area. The opposition Congress, CPIM and Tipra Matha are committing these incidents without being able to accept their defeat. They want to create a riot. But they were rejected by the people in the recently concluded assembly elections. BJP workers alleged that now they are trying to destroy the peace and harmony of people by relying on terrorism. Police and paramilitary forces rushed to the news. But the police went to the spot and had to face the anger. But some locals said the police are brokering the opposition area MLA Sudip Roy Barman is creating such incidents with money. After a long effort, the police lifted the road blockade after convincing the BJP workers. Currently, the situation in the area is tense.
