Agartala September 27: September 27 is World Tourism Day. Hence, a historic march was organized in the capital on Wednesday. September 27 is World Tourism Day. Keeping this day in mind, a procession was organized in front of the Ujjayanta Palace in the capital on the initiative of the Tourism Department.

Tourism Department Minister Sushanta Chowdhury inaugurated this historic pad yatra. Department Secretary U.K. Chakma, Director of Tourism Department, Director of Youth Welfare and Sports Department and others were present. This historic pada yatra of this day starts from in front of Ujjayanta Palace and ends at Heritage Park after circumambulating various streets of the capital. People from all walks of life participate in the pada yatra. In an interview, the minister of the department Sushanta Chowdhury said that tourism day is being celebrated all over the world. Various programs have been undertaken in the state for two days.

The current government is a tourism friendly government. Tourism is not where it used to be in the past. Tourism must be promoted and won. The government is working towards that goal. Tourism has a special role to play in making the state’s economy self-sustaining. Efforts are being made to strengthen tourism and put it on the world map. He also claimed that tourism creates friendships.
