Prepaid auto service will resume at Agartala’s MBB airport from tomorrow: Sushanta

Agartala, April 24 (H.E.): Prepaid auto service will resume at Maharaja Bir Bikram International Airport from tomorrow Tuesday. Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury gave an assurance in this regard after the meeting at the airport today. Today he discussed various issues with airport authorities and auto driver representatives. He gave a strong message that any act that tarnishes the reputation of Tripura will not be tolerated. If necessary, the administration will take strict action.

At various times, passengers from the state and outside the state arriving at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala have been harassed by some auto drivers. The Minister of Transport felt that the incident was very undesirable and unfortunate. Even tourists traveling to Tripura from outside the state have been physically assaulted at times due to the violence of some auto drivers, which is by no means desirable, expressed excitement.

Therefore, to overcome this problem and to solve it permanently, Transport Minister Sushant Chowdhury presided over a high-level meeting today in the conference hall of the old passenger terminal building of Agartala Airport in the presence of high-ranking officials of the administration. In that meeting, he called upon the representatives of various labor organizations and auto drivers not to spoil the reputation of Tripura.

The Transport Minister was informed about the issues raised by the representatives of auto drivers in the meeting today and assured them to solve them. In today’s meeting, the transport minister said that the reputation of Tripura will not be allowed to be tarnished in any way, with a strong message from the administration to all concerned related to passenger transport at Agartala airport. In the near future, if there is any complaint of harassment at the airport again, the administration will take strict action.

Today’s meeting was attended among others by Tripura Government Transport and Tourism Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Transport Commissioner Subrata Chowdhury, Agartala Airport Director Kailash Chandra Meena, Tripura Police IG (Crime and Intelligence) L Darlong, Tourism Director Tapan Kumar Das, Airport Security CISF Major Dharmendra. Sai and other officials.
