Dr. Bishal Kumar, the Returning Officer and District Magistrate of West Tripura, confirmed this during an inspection. Those eligible for postal ballots include media personnel covering “polling day activities” and individuals engaged in essential services such as metros, railways, and healthcare.

A total of 42 voters participated in today’s voting process. Notably, the majority of these voters are journalists, reflecting their commitment to civic participation and democratic processes.

The use of postal ballots provides a convenient alternative for individuals who cannot physically visit polling stations due to work commitments or other reasons. As the election season unfolds, this inclusive approach ensures that essential service providers can exercise their electoral rights effectively.
