Police seize 50 kg of dry cannabis in raid: Two arrested

Agartala:  February 20: Acting on a tip-off, officers from Bishalgarh police station conducted a late-night raid on a residence, leading to the discovery of 50 kilograms of dry cannabis. The two suspects, identified as brothers Raju Sarkar and Sanjit Sarkar, were apprehended during the operation.

According to OC Rana Chatterjee, the police received information about a significant stash of dry cannabis stored at the home of Raju Sarkar, a resident of the Dhanchari area. Acting swiftly, the police executed the raid at approximately 1:30 am last night. The search yielded a total of 50 kg of the illicit substance.

Both Raju and Sanjit Sarkar have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Bishalgarh police station. Authorities continue their efforts to curb drug-related activities in the region.
