Police recovered brown sugar worth Rs 6 lakh

Agartala: Feb 15: Police have recovered brown sugar worth approximately Rs 6 lakh from Sonamura Madhuban Naka Point. However, the smuggler could not be apprehended.

According to Sonamura Police Station OC Subrata Kumar Deb, the drugs were recovered during an operation based on a tip-off. The smuggler was traveling from Melaghar to Sonamura when he spotted the police near Sonamura Madhuban Naka Point. He abandoned his bike and fled to the riverside. The police recovered 7 cases of brown sugar from a packet on the bike.
