Police arrested five individuals in connection with financial scandal

Agartala: Mar 01: Bishramganj police arrested five individuals late at night in connection with a financial scandal involving the Sepahijala District Police. The arrested persons include four police personnel and one civilian. They were taken into custody on Friday night and presented in court on Saturday.

According to the police, the accused are John Debbarma, Suchitra Sinha, Khokon Dey, Constable Harinath Debbarma, and a civilian, Khanilal Debbarma. The investigation revealed that the accused allegedly attempted to embezzle 1.5 million rupees from the police treasury.

This incident has raised concerns about internal police corruption. The matter is currently under investigation, and the police have assured that strict legal action will be taken against those involved.
