Agartala: Jan 16: In a heartfelt gesture of support, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has provided a death insurance claim of Rs. 100.00 lakhs to Mrs. Pinki Shil, the mother of Late Surajit Shil, a constable with the Tripura Police, who tragically passed away in a road accident on April 11, 2024. The claim was formally handed over to Mrs. Shil by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Dr. (Prof) Manik Saha, during a ceremony held at the Police Ground in A D Nagar, Agartala, as part of the Police Week celebrations. The event was attended by key dignitaries, including Sri Amitabha Ranjan, DGP of Tripura, and representatives from PNB such as Sri Binay Kumar Gupta, Chief General Manager, and Sri Rituraj Krishna, DGM & Circle Head.
Late Surajit Shil had his salary account under PNB’s Rakshak Plus Salary Scheme, specifically designed for personnel in defense, paramilitary, and police forces. This scheme offers an inbuilt Personal Accidental Insurance (PAI) facility, ensuring financial protection for the family in the event of an untimely demise. As a result, Surajit’s family received immediate financial support through this insurance benefit, providing crucial assistance during their time of grief.
PNB’s prompt settlement of the claim highlights the bank’s commitment to standing by its customers, especially during challenging times. The bank’s officials also expressed their condolences and offered support to the grieving family. As the second-largest bank in the country, PNB continues to demonstrate its customer-centric approach by offering specialized products like the Rakshak Plus Salary Scheme, which is available to members of security forces who have a salary account with PNB.
This act of solidarity is a testament to PNB’s dedication to providing comprehensive services and support to its customers, especially those who serve the nation.
