Pan Cultivator Mysteriously Shot in Jungle

Agartala, May 26: In a perplexing incident, a pan cultivator was shot in the back while collecting pan leaves in the Dhanchhara jungle under Ambasa police station. The injured man, identified as Santhithang Halam, remains in serious condition.

According to the incident report, Santhithang Halam ventured into the jungle on Sunday for his routine work. Unexpectedly, miscreants fired three shots at him, leaving him wounded. His family members promptly responded to the distress call and transported him to Kulai Hospital. Subsequently, he was transferred to GBP Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

Santhithang Halam, a tribal resident, expressed bewilderment over the attack. He stated that he could not identify the assailants and had no personal enmity with anyone. Authorities have initiated an investigation into this mysterious shooting.
