Agartala: Oct 02: The main opposition party in Tripura has sparked controversy with their recent statements, raising questions about their ideological stance. Nabanendu Bhattacharjee, state BJP spokesperson, alleges that the opposition’s current stance is a stark departure from their actions when they were in power, causing confusion among the people.
Questions have also arisen about their political position. Their statements are quite provocative. They are trying to create an unstable situation in the state. They are trying to confuse people by muddying the waters. They are trying to disrupt the development work being done by the government. They are not doing politics in the public interest. They understand that the people have moved away from them. The people are not with them. They have fallen behind in the democratic process. They can no longer control the people as they did in the past. They realize that attempts to control the people will no longer be successful. People truly taste democracy.
As a result, people can speak out on any issue, which was not the case during the Left Front regime. In a press conference at the state BJP office on Wednesday, state BJP spokesperson Nabanendu Bhattacharjee made these allegations. In the press conference, he further stated that the opposition has questioned the safety of women. Nabanendu Bhattacharjee presented data claiming that the highest number of cases of women’s atrocities occurred during the Left Front rule. The opposition has been propagating that the drug menace has increased in the state after the BJP government came to power. Nabanendu Bhattacharjee claimed that after the BJP government came to power, the number of arrests has increased. As a result, the matter is being publicized more. The BJP also wants the matter to be publicized. Citing old data, Nabanendu Bhattacharjee claimed that the drug menace also existed in the state during the Left Front rule. At that time, the police were not allowed to take action because the leaders of the then ruling party used to procure supplies. At that time, there were hardly any pucca houses in rural areas. If a pucca house was seen in a village, it was certain that it was the CPI(M) party office. After the BJP government came to power, many people involved in the drug trade have fled the state. Those who are currently in the opposition cannot procure supplies from the drug traffickers. So they are propagating that there is no work and no food. The opposition is complaining about the flood situation. Nabanendu Bhattacharjee claimed that an all-party meeting was held during the flood situation. The opposition had nothing to say at that meeting. Because at that time, the opposition did not have the desire to stand by the people. At that time, along with the government, the workers of the BJP party had rushed to the flood-affected people in different areas. The BJP party workers stood by the flood-affected people. The press conference was also attended by Yuva Morcha president Sushanta Dev and other leaders.
