Agartala: Dec 02: Opposition leader Animesh Debbarma has written to the Chief Minister demanding an inquiry into the unusual death of three members of the same family. This morning he went to the house of the deceased in Melaghar Thakurpara area and talked to the neighbors.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, he said that some miscreants had pressured Pratima Pal, wife of Chintaharan Pal (70), a resident of Thakurpara School, Melaghar, to resign from the job of mid-day meal at Thakurpara School for several days. It is clear that their death was not due to poverty but due to problems created by some miscreants, said the opposition leader. He requested the Chief Minister to order a proper investigation into the incident.
Incidentally, the body of Chintaharan Pal (70), a resident of Melaghar Thakurpara School, was recovered yesterday. The bodies of his wife Pratima Pal (50) and daughter Monika Pal (20) were recovered from the same house. Although he was a potter by profession, he was currently involved in mid-day meal work at Thakurpara School. His wife Pratibha Pal also helps in this work. They also make idols at home if they get a chance.
Yesterday morning, Chintaharan Pal did not come to school when a colleague went home and called him. But as they did not open the door, the neighbors came and opened the door. That’s when the locals found the mother, father and daughter lying on the bed they Immediately informed the police. The police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem. The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
