One Bangladeshi Nationals arrested , seized 15.500 kg dry cannabis worth ₹2,32,500

Agartala: Mar 17: During routine police checks at Agartala railway station yesterday, authorities recovered 15.500 kilograms of dry cannabis in an abandoned state. The cannabis, packed in 16 packets inside a pink trolley bag, was seized following all legal procedures. The Agartala GRP police station has launched an investigation to identify the owner of the illegal substance, which has an estimated market value of ₹2,32,500.

On the same day, a Bangladeshi citizen, Mohammad Liton (47), was detained at the railway station. A resident of Comilla district in Bangladesh, he stated during preliminary questioning that he intended to travel to Mumbai. This operation was conducted jointly by the Agartala GRP, BSF, Agartala RPF, and the intelligence department.

 

A case has been registered at the Agartala GRP police station, and the detained individual was presented in court today.
