One arrested with illegal escoff worth Rs 9 lac

Agartala, December 22: Police of Bodhjung police station has succeeded in anti-drug operation. Police recovered 12 cartoon Escoff after searching a container based on tip-off. Also, the police arrested a youth from outside the state. A specific case has been filed against him under NDPS Act. Today, the police will ask for remand and will be handed over to the court.

OC Krishna Dhan Sarkar said that, the OC of Khayerpur police station received information that a large quantity of drugs would be unloaded in the Khayerpur bypass with containers from outside the state. On the basis of that information, the police conducted an operation. In the operation, the police managed to recover 12 cartons of Escoff from the container number KA01AL4183.

He also said that Johel Hazarika, a resident of Assam, has been arrested. A specific case has been filed against him. Today, the police will ask for remand and will be handed over to the court. He said that the market value of the confiscated escoff will be approximately 9 lakh rupees.
