Agartala July 25: A man named Tapan Das of Belonia Srirampur was arrested on charges of extorting money at gunpoint. The country made gun was recovered from him. According to the details of the incident, on Monday, a person named Iqbal Hossain and Saiful Mia went to the house of a person named Tapan Das in Srirampur to buy an old bike.

Then Tapan Das took out a gun from the house and threatened the youth to give him money. Then a young man managed to escape from there, but Tapan Das snatched seven and a half thousand from the other person. Later, Saiful Mia and Iqbal Hossain filed a case at the police station. The Srirampur police arrested the accused Tapan Das after taking the case. Police took him to court on Tuesday. It is known that the police will take him on remand and ask how long he has been threatening people by pretending to be a friend. And the police is also investigating whether he has committed any kind of crime with this gun in the past.
