Agartala: May 31: In a significant development, the Detective Branch and Dharmanagar Police Station in North Tripura District have achieved commendable success in their ongoing anti-drug campaign. Acting on confidential information, police and detective personnel apprehended Helal Uddin from Ward No. 5 of Bhagyapur Gram Panchayat while he was riding his bike incognito. Upon searching him, they discovered two boxes containing brown sugar. As a result, an investigation has been initiated against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Helal Uddin, the arrested individual, had allegedly been operating a thriving narcotics business in Bhagyapur and its surrounding areas for an extended period. His activities were reportedly leading the youth astray. Furthermore, it is claimed that he would resort to threats, even violence, against anyone attempting to hinder his drug sales. In essence, he had established himself as a dominant figure in the local drug trade.
