Nomination papers for West Tripura Lok Sabha begin from today

Agartala, March 20: The nomination process for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat commenced today, marking the beginning of a crucial electoral phase. Independent candidate Milan Pada Murasingh stepped forward on the inaugural day to submit his nomination papers for the coveted seat.

District Election Officer (DEO) and West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar confirmed that the nomination filing process officially kicked off today. Aspiring candidates have until March 27 to submit their nomination papers, with acceptance hours spanning from 11 am to 3 pm.

Milan Pada Murasingh, hailing from Shantirbazar, seized the opportunity and formally entered the race for the West Tripura seat on the very first day.

Voters in the West Tripura constituency will head to the polls during the initial phase of the general elections on April 19. The crucial counting of votes is scheduled for May 23. The outcome of this electoral battle will significantly impact the representation of the region in the Lok Sabha.
