Agartala: July 30: A distressing incident has been reported in the AD Nagar area, where a nine-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted by her father. The incident has caused significant tension in the community.

According to reports, the father took advantage of the absence of other family members to repeatedly abuse his daughter at their home in the SD Mission area of Camp Bazar, under the jurisdiction of the AD Nagar police station. He also threatened the child to prevent her from disclosing the abuse.

On July 24, the father assaulted his daughter again, prompting her to confide in her mother. Shocked by the revelation, the mother informed local residents, leading the father to flee. The mother, with the support of the community, filed a complaint at the West Agartala Women’s Police Station. The police have assured that they will conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate legal action.

The victim and her mother have called for the death penalty for the accused.
