National School Under-17 Yoga Competition in the State from November 23-27

Agartala, November 22: The 67th National School Sports Under 17 Boys & Girls Yoga Competition in the state will be inaugurated tomorrow. The five-day competition will continue till November 27. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy announced this news at a press conference organized at the secretariat’s press conference hall today.

The Sports Minister said in a press conference that the 67th National School Sports Yoga Competition will be held at the Netaji Subhas Regional Sports Training Center (NSRCC) Indoor Stadium. More than 500 contestants from different states of the country will participate in it. Already 351 players from 18 states and 3 Union Territories have registered their names. Out of this, 174 people are in the boy category and 177 people are in the girl category. This number will increase further by tomorrow.

The sports minister said that the national school sports under-17 football and gymnastics competitions were held in the state earlier. This is the first time that the competition in yoga events is going to be held. The judges of this competition will come from outside the state. The sports minister said that with the sincere efforts of the present state government, the sports infrastructure of the state has been greatly improved. As a result, the children of the state are also progressing in the field of sports in keeping with the national level players.

The secretary of the sports department Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty at the press conference said that tomorrow Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha will inaugurate the competition in the 67th National School Sports Under 17 Yoga event. Various National School Creed competitions have been successfully organized in the state before. The sports department has taken various steps to successfully organize this year’s 67th National School Sports competition. Sports Department Director Satyabrata Nath was also present at the press conference.
