AGARTALA: November 06. Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’ has been launched with the goal to make the Government more accessible to the common people.

Dr Saha said this today after attending the 35th edition of this programme at his official residence addressing the issues raised by the people, who have come from various districts.

“I also get an opportunity to listen to the citizens’ grievances directly through this platform”, he said.

In the 35th episode of Chief Minister Samipeshu program today, people from different parts of the state met Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha to solve their problems.

During the event, various individuals presented their grievances, shortages, and requests to the Chief Minister, with most appeals focused on medical assistance.

Dr. Saha, who also serves as the state’s Health Minister, reviewed the medical documents and promptly directed relevant officials to take necessary action.

Bijay Debbarma from Lefunga approached the Chief Minister seeking medical assistance for his 8-year-old daughter, who has been suffering from a congenital femur complication on her right side.

Despite exhausting his savings on her medical care, Bijay is currently unable to afford the treatment due to financial constraints. After reviewing the medical documents, the Chief Minister directed GB Hospital’s Acting Medical Superintendent, Dr. Tapan Majumder, to provide the needed assistance.

Additionally, Dr Saha instructed Tapas Roy, Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, to explore further support options for Bijay through the department.

Shyamal Karmakar, a resident of Palace Compound in Agartala, also sought assistance for his wife, who suffered a recent brain stroke that impaired her vision in both eyes.

Although doctors recommended eye injections for her treatment, the cost of the injections has made it financially challenging for Shyamal, who works at a tire sales shop.

After examining her medical documents, the Chief Minister immediately ordered Dr. Tapan Majumder, the Acting Medical Superintendent at GB Hospital, to arrange the required support.

Lakshmi Rani Das’s 31-year-old son, who is currently undergoing dialysis due to kidney failure, is another case highlighted during the program. Financially struggling to cover her son’s medical expenses, Lakshmi Rani requested financial aid. After reviewing her son’s medical documents, Dr. Saha directed the GB Hospital Acting Medical Superintendent to provide the necessary assistance and also ensured that her family receives cards under the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana.

Present at the program were Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty, Secretary of the Health Department Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department Tapas Roy, Acting Medical Superintendent of GB Hospital Dr. Tapan Majumder, and Dr. S. Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of the Atal Bihari Regional Cancer Center.
