Agartala: August 14: MP Biplab Kumar Deb has strongly condemned the recent attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, describing the perpetrators as lacking humanity. He made these remarks while participating in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organized by the Labor Monitoring Cell affiliated with the Vivekananda Bichar Manch, as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program ahead of Independence Day. During the event, he paid tribute to the full-length statue of Veera Sannyasi Swami Vivekananda.

Speaking to journalists, Deb expressed his dismay over the attacks on minorities following the change of power in Bangladesh, calling it a planned effort by fundamentalist groups to undermine the country’s existence. He contrasted this with Tripura’s peaceful transition of power in 2018 after 25 years of Left rule, noting that such incidents did not occur in Tripura.

Deb emphasized that only those devoid of humanity could commit such acts of oppression against minorities, lamenting the loss of humanity among the attackers.
