On Friday afternoon, around 2 pm, a Tata Ace vehicle with registration number TR 01 N 1783, driven by a resident of Gokulnagar, struck Thakur Chan Sarkar while he was crossing the road in the Bhuinyar Matha area of Gokulnagar under Bishalgarh police station. The impact threw the 65-year-old onto the road.
Locals quickly rushed him to Bishalgarh Firefighters in critical condition. The firefighters promptly transported Thakur Chan Sarkar to Bishalgarh Sub-divisional Hospital. Due to his severe condition, the doctors referred him to Agartala GBP Hospital that same night. Unfortunately, Thakur Chan Sarkar succumbed to his injuries around 11 pm while undergoing treatment at G B Hospital. After the post-mortem on Saturday, his body was brought back to his residence in Gokulnagar.
