Minister’s Social Media Comments Spark Statewide Debate

Agartala: Sept 02: Minister Sudhanshu Das’s recent comments on social media have ignited a heated debate across Tripura. The CPI(M) Tripura State Secretariat has strongly condemned the minister’s remarks, labeling them as communal. The state Congress leadership has also criticized the comments and demanded the minister’s removal from the cabinet.

In his social media post, Minister Das expressed controversial views regarding the moral rights of Hindus to worship their deities, citing incidents of temple vandalism. His statements have been widely criticized for being provocative and potentially harmful to communal harmony.

The CPI(M) has issued a statement condemning the minister’s comments, describing them as provocative against religious minorities and likely to incite communal discord. They have called for swift action from the Chief Minister, the government, and the police administration.

Similarly, the state Congress has strongly condemned the minister’s remarks. Spokesperson Praveer Chakraborty, during a press conference at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan, questioned the appropriateness of such statements from a minister and warned of statewide agitation if the minister is not removed from the cabinet.
