Agartala: August 04: During a campaign event for the panchayat elections in Fatikroy, Minister Sudhanshu Das accused Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman of corruption amounting to 40 crore rupees during his tenure as health minister. Das claimed that this alleged corruption led to Barman’s removal from the post by then Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

In response, Sudip Roy Barman refuted the allegations in a public meeting at Emrapasha Bazar, Ratnachhara Gram Panchayat. He challenged Das, saying, “If you have the courage, cut off a strand of your hair.” Barman asserted that he has always been truthful and questioned the timing of the allegations, noting that he was removed from his ministerial position on May 31, 2019. He dismissed the accusations as baseless and suggested that Das was attempting to enhance his own image through these claims.
