Medical negligence raised against doctor

Agartala: Mar 04: A patient with breathing difficulties was transferred to GB Hospital with a half-finished oxygen cylinder, leading to a major crisis during the journey. Allegations of negligence have been raised against the doctor at Melaghar Hospital in connection with this incident.

According to reports, Sulekha Sarkar, a patient from Melaghar Rajghat area, was transferred from Melaghar Hospital with a half-finished oxygen cylinder. The oxygen supply ran out as soon as they reached Bairagi Bazar, causing the patient to experience severe breathing difficulties. She was then rushed to Bishalgarh Hospital, where her family members raised an alarm upon arrival. The medical staff at Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital quickly administered oxygen, stabilizing the patient’s condition. Subsequently, the patient was sent to Agartala GB Hospital by ambulance.

 

The incident has raised serious questions about the decision to transfer the patient with an insufficient oxygen supply, leading to allegations of negligence against the doctor at Melaghar Hospital.
