Agartala: August 18: Sadar Sub-District Administrative Officers are giving shelter to unscrupulous traders by raiding public markets. In the last two days, onions have increased by a leap to more than twenty rupees per kg. Onion is one of the daily essential raw materials. A jump of 20 rupees can be considered as a big shock for the middle class and poor people.
Meanwhile, on Friday morning, the representatives of Sadar Sub-Division Administrative and Food Department went to Maharajganj market to raid. They checked the wholesale and retail prices while facing the media and said that a lot of onions were wasted in Nashik due to excessive rain. As a result, the price has increased slightly. This has affected the state market. The price of wholesale onion has been observed at 36 taka. And retail price of onion is 38 to 40 taka. But the real value of the market is night and day different from the statement of the administrative delegation. Onions are being sold in the market at the price of Tk 45 to Tk 50. Onion is being sold at Tk 50 in the market and shops in the city. And in the morning, the administrative officials are doing their photo sessions without going to the market. However, according to the buyers, if the price of onion increases in the market, it may increase by Rs 10-12 . But the sudden increase in price by 20 rupees has caused a sigh of relief among the people. Common people do not look at the direction when they come to the market.
And how indulgent the administration is is witnessed in the market raid on Friday. And the real value is night and day with the retail price that the management team mentioned in the press conference. On this day, it can be noticed that some unscrupulous traders ran away from the shop after receiving the news before the administration’s operation. And that is well known to the officer who went on the expedition. But they have no initiative to bring it under control. Many think that everything is a secret understanding.
