Locals protested on national highway after being attacked by elephants

Agartala: Jan 19: The local people of Teliamura Krishnapur area are once again afraid of elephants. Fed up with the attack of wild elephants, the villagers protested on the Assam Agartala National Highway. Traffic was disrupted due to the protest. MLA and Public Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma ‘s car got stuck on the road. Meanwhile, a large police force including Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Police Officer and OC of Teliamura police station rushed to the spot after receiving the news.

A local resident complained that wild elephants are constantly attacking many houses and are robbing the villagers of their sleep at night. The people of Teliamura Krishnapur area are hot because of elephants. Residents of the area started a protest on Assam Agartala National Highway on Friday to escape from the attack of elephants. As a result of this protest, MLA and minister Bikas Debbarma was stuck on the road. The entire police force, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Police Officer and Teliamura Police Station Officer rushed to the spot.

 

Meanwhile, Minister Bikas Debbarma said that the government will take necessary steps to solve the problem as soon as possible. He directed the officials to catch the wild elephant.
