Agartala, November 9: Locals have encircled the Wakf Board demanding the release of possession of a hundred-year-old graveyard. Their demand is to solve the problem as soon as possible and take necessary measures to keep the graveyard safe. If their demands are not fulfilled, they warned that they will join a larger movement in the coming days.

According to a local resident, Madhya Champamura graveyard under Vikram Nagar Panchayat under Dukli block is 100 years old. But recently, some people have suddenly started the construction of Kalimandir in the graveyard. They also complained that despite coming to the Waqf Board several times, they are not taking any initiative to solve the problem. So today the local people encircled the Waqf Board demanding to release the encroachment of the cemetery. Later, a delegation of them gave a deputation to the Waqf Board.
