Agartala: Dec 11: Last 25 years, the previous government cheated the farmers. But the BJP-led government is working to develop modern agricultural infrastructure in every agricultural subdivision. This was said by Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury at a function organized at Bairagibazar Nat Mandir area under Sonamura subdivision today.

From today, the programme of purchase of paddy produced in the current Kharif season at a minimum support price of Rs 2183 per quintal has started from the farmers of the state in a joint initiative of the Department of Food Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs and the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare at 49 places in the state.

On this day, Sushanta Chowdhury said that the enthusiasm of the farmers has increased due to the increase in the price of paddy As a result, yield also increased. Hundreds of thousands of farmers in Tripura have benefited since the launch of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) paddy procurement programme. Thus, the financial burden of the Tripura government increased, but the farmers benefited financially.

His sarcasm, in the past there was no arrangement for purchasing paddy through MSP in Tripura. As a result the farmers were deprived. The previous government has cheated the farmer friends for 25 years. The state government is working to develop modern agricultural infrastructure in every agricultural subdivision. So that farmers can increase their income. The BJP government has started it The Tripura government is purchasing paddy from farmers at the rate of Rs 2183 per quintal.

 

Moreover, farmers are being provided with everything from modern machinery to fertilizer seeds. Krishak Bandhu Kendra and Krishak Gyan Arjan Kendra are being opened in every agricultural sub-division to provide proper advice to the farmers. Besides, arrangements are being made to ensure that the farmers get the right price for their produce. He said that the government is purchasing paddy from farmer friends at the minimum subsidized price.

 

This year, the state government has set a target of purchasing 50,000 metric tons of paddy from farmers. On this day, the minister expressed hope and said that this year we can achieve the target of buying 50 thousand metric tons of paddy.
