Agartala: Jan 03: Joint Movement Committee of retrenched 10323 teachers along with their family members took to the streets in capital Agartala during ‘Mahakaran Abhiyan’  and marched towards the secretariat demanding for returning back their jobs and as per the commitment of the government. The protestors were stopped by police near Circuit House area where they blocked traffic movement in the airport road and raised slogans. They viewed that around one and a half month back a delegation of them had met the state Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha along with legal experts to discuss their issue and after which it was informed that very soon the government will call for the second round of talks but till now it did not happened and moreover, they are worried as soon the assembly election is going to be declared and after which the state government shall not be able to take any decision. They informed already 149 of their members due to the trauma of losing job have lost live and others without any income are in pathetic financial condition and so urged the government to take immediate steps to save them.
