Jishnu Deb Varma Sworn In As New Governor Of Telangana

Agartala: July 31: Jishnu Deb Varma was sworn in as the new Governor of Telangana.  The Chief Justice of the High Court, Justice Alok Aradhe administered the oath to him.  Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, State Ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, and others attended the Governor’s swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan.

Born on August 15, 1957, Jishnu Deb Verma worked as the second Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura from 2018 to 2023.  He also served as the President of the Badminton Association of India. He belongs to the Tripura Royal Family.  Joined the BJP in 1990 during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
