IG BSF Tripura Frontier Visits North Tripura and Unokoti Districts

Agartala: August 10: S Patel Piyush Purushottam Das, the Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) Tripura Frontier, recently conducted a two-day visit to North Tripura and Unokoti districts. Upon his arrival at Bagbasa helipad by helicopter, he was welcomed by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Panisagar subdivision and other officials.

During his visit, IG Das inspected various border outposts in the Unokoti and North Tripura districts. He engaged in discussions with unit commandants, company commanders, and border-deployed personnel about the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh. He praised the BSF jawans for their relentless efforts in preventing cross-border crimes and illegal infiltration from Bangladesh.

IG Das also reviewed the operations of the newly established Command and Control Center, which features high-tech AI-enabled cameras along the border to enhance surveillance. He emphasized the need for increased vigilance to prevent infiltration attempts.

In addition, IG Das held a meeting with the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Unokoti. During this meeting, he was briefed on the current situation in Bangladesh and the collaborative security measures implemented by the BSF and the civil administration. IG Das is scheduled to visit another BSF border outpost to continue his review.
