Agartala: Feb 03: In a disturbing incident, a physics tutor named Ankit Giri (27), who operated near Radharaman Ashram in Padmapur, has been accused of molestation. The allegations have sparked outrage in the local community.
According to available information, Ankit Giri had been providing tutoring services to a class 9 student for an extended period, conducting lessons both at his own residence and occasionally at the student’s home. Now, as the student advances to the twelfth standard, the situation has taken a dark turn.
The student’s parents, concerned about their child’s well-being, sought professional help. They took their daughter to a psychiatrist in Silchar for evaluation. While various tests were conducted, psychologists ruled out any other underlying reasons for the distress.
However, the vigilant mother decided to keep a close watch on her daughter. Recently, she discovered the student engaged in a video call with Ankit Giri, who had apparently locked the door. Shockingly, the mother found indecent videos and pictures involving the student and the home tutor.
Taking swift action, the girl’s parents filed a complaint (case number 2/24) at the Mahila Police Station in Dharmanagar. Ankit Giri was promptly arrested on Friday night and subsequently presented in court on Saturday.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of students under the care of private tutors. Ankit Giri’s background as a physics graduate adds to the gravity of the situation. Authorities are closely monitoring the case to ensure justice prevails and to prevent such incidents from recurring in the area.
