GRP and RPF Joint Operation Seizes 22 Kg cannabis, Arrests Two Youths

Agartala: May 24: In a joint operation based on intelligence, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have recovered 22 kg of cannabis from Agartala Railway Station and arrested two youths from other states.

According to the incident report, on the afternoon of yesterday, intelligence was received that two youths from other states would be arriving at Agartala Railway Station with contraband. Based on this information, a joint operation was conducted by the police of GRP and RPF stations. During the operation, two suspicious youths were detained and searched. During the search, 22 kg of ganja was recovered. Two youths from other states were arrested along with the contraband. They were produced in court today seeking police remand.

The accused have been identified as Purushottam Kumar (20) and Charan Kumar (21), both residents of Bihar. They had planned to smuggle the ganja from Agartala to Bihar.
