Agartala: April 27: Today marked a momentous occasion in Panchkula, Haryana, as the Tau Devi Lal Stadium buzzed with excitement during a grand festival celebrating Parshuram Jayanti. Organized by Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma, the event drew an enormous crowd, with thousands of people from all corners of the state coming together to honor Lord Parshuram, one of the revered deities in Hindu mythology.
The air was filled with the spirited chants and praises directed towards Lord Parshuram, encapsulating the essence of devotion and unity among the participants. The occasion not only celebrated religious reverence but also emphasized India’s rich cultural heritage and the pivotal role of its historical figures in the nation’s narrative.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the presence of former Chief Minister of Tripura, Biplab Kumar Deb. His address resonated with attendees as he touched upon significant themes of nationalism, traditions, and the country’s defense policies. His assertive remarks underscored India’s commitment to sovereignty and the vigorous response that accompanies any act against its integrity. Biplab Deb articulated, “India never initiates an attack, but if anyone attempts to attack India, the Prime Minister and the people of the country are ready to respond appropriately.” His speech included a powerful quote from Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, reinforcing the country’s strength and resolve: “If one soldier’s throat is slit at the border, the culprits will face the loss of five.”
Building on the current geopolitical climate, Deb referenced the Pahalgam attack, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would ensure a lesson so profound that it would deter any future aggression from neighboring countries. He celebrated the diversity within India’s cultural tapestry, noting that irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, the sense of an Indian identity is what binds the nation together—an assertion he articulated as the true strength of India.
The celebration also saw the presence of various dignitaries, including notable politicians like former Union Minister Vinod Sharma, BJP MLA Shakti Rani Sharma from Kalka, and former Minister Ram Bilas Sharma. Haryana’s Chief Minister, Nayab Saini, alongside other notable ministers and local MLAs, participated, underscoring the government’s support for such unifying events.
Kartikeya Sharma’s speech further reiterated the cultural significance of Lord Parshuram, declaring him a deity who represents not just the Brahmin community but all of Haryana’s 36 communities. He implored attendees to embody the teachings and principles of Lord Parshuram in their daily lives, fostering a spirit of unity and strength.
The festival was meticulously organized with facilities that included a splendidly decorated stage, dazzling lighting, robust security measures, and proper seating and water arrangements for attendees. This careful planning ensured that the gathering went smoothly and safely, further elevating the festive spirit. The presence of influential members of the Brahmin community, saints, and social workers enriched the atmosphere, bringing together diverse groups under one collective celebration.
As the sun set over Panchkula, the robust chants echoed through the stadium, reminding everyone present of the significance of Parshuram Jayanti—an embodiment of devotion, unity, and cultural pride that transcends regional boundaries, emphasizing the shared heritage and strength of the Indian identity.
