The loans are intended to help women become financially self-reliant and to expand their entrepreneurial activities. Punjab National Bank has taken the initiative to provide these loans on favorable terms. Several branches of the bank have already approved loans for women representatives of self-help groups operating in different parts of the state.

During the event, Minister Pranjit Singh Roy highlighted that national-level banks are providing fewer loans compared to regional banks. He encouraged national banks to increase their lending efforts. He also noted that regional banks are playing a significant role by offering more loans. The event was attended by officials from various banks and representatives from self-help groups across the state.
