Govt committed to ensure social security and safety of women: Chief Minister

Agartala, August 30: Government is trying to ensure social security and safety of women. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while participating in a function organized on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan festival at the Chief Minister’s official residence today.

He said, the main goal of the government is to ensure the safety of women. The government has taken several steps to ensure social security and safety of women. Last year during the Raksha Bandhan festival, the state government decided to provide free education to girls in general degree colleges. Besides, CCTV cameras and automatic number plate identification cameras were installed in different places of the state. Also, the state government has secured 33 percent employment for girls.

In a function organized on the occasion of Raksha bandhan festival at the Chief Minister’s official residence, sisters from different areas offered rakhi to the Chief Minister and wished him well. The Chief Minister also congratulated them. On the occasion, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha told reporters that this holy Raksha bandhan day is the day to take oath to protect brothers and sisters. He wished the health of all the sisters in the state.
