Agartala, September 30: Government is very sensitive to the overall development of medical services. Special emphasis has been given to the infrastructure development of district hospitals to reduce the pressure of referral patients on the main referral hospitals of the state. Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said this on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jana Arogya Yojana and 2nd anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission at Pragya Bhaban in Agartala today.

According to him, one of the goals of the government is to provide better health services to the people of the marginal areas of the state. Various steps have been taken to improve the quality of health services.

On this day, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream is to build a healthy India. In order to realize the Prime Minister’s dream, the state government has taken efforts to expand health services and develop infrastructure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the nationwide Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jana Arogya Yojana for the welfare of economically weaker sections.

The chief minister claimed that 13,40,172 ayuman cards have been issued in Tripura since the inception of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jana Arogya Yojana till August 2023, which is 96.17 percent of the beneficiaries of the state. Besides, 2,54,511 beneficiaries of the state have received medical services under this scheme. Of these, 3,993 received services from various hospitals outside the state. For the successful implementation of this project, Tripura has received four certificates from the Government of India. 129 government hospitals and 4 private hospitals in the state are enrolled in this programme.

On this day, the Chief Minister also said that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission was launched on September 27, 2021. One of the subjects of this mission is Ayushman Bharat Health Account Number or Ava Number. So far 5,37,671 Ava cards have been issued in the state.

He said that the state government has taken the initiative to launch a new scheme called Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana 2023 for those families who were not covered under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. In the budget of the current financial year, resources of 59 crore rupees have been kept. Union Ministry of Health has taken up Ayushman Bhabha Abhiyan program to make people aware about health services.

He said that the state government has also organized Seva Pakshkal program from September 17 to October 2, 2023 as part of the Ayushman Bhabha programme.
