Agartala: Dec 05: GB Hospital is now able to perform various complex treatments and surgeries in the Neurology department. Neurosurgeon Dr. Sidharth Reddy announced this at a press conference held in the conference hall of GB Hospital on Thursday. Dr. Abir Lal Nath, a physician in the Neurology department, said that 400 angiographies have been performed at the hospital so far. Angiography is done for those who suffer from heart disease repeatedly. On the other hand, 26 to 28 coiling procedures have been performed in the last year. Patients have received all facilities through Ayushman Kadir.
The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, said that there is a shortage of ICU beds in the hospital compared to the number of patients. Attempts will be made to solve the problem to some extent by December. Thoughts are being given on how to solve the bed problem in the future. Notably, there have been allegations of patient deaths in GB Hospital due to a shortage of beds. Many critical patients cannot be referred to the ICU.
