Gariya Puja is the major festival of tribals of Tripura. And festival means meeting of all.

Today, 21st April , Friday, the traditional Garia Puja of the state began in different parts of the city. This traditional Garia Puja is celebrated all over the state. This Garia festival will last for seven days.

On the occasion of Garia Puja, like every year, three days holiday has been declared in schools this year too. On the occasion of Garia Puja, a big fair is being held at Abhaynagar and Khudiram Bose School grounds in Agartala.

Also various programs are being conducted on the occasion of Gariya Puja in different parts of Tripura state . Various types of traditional food are organized in the homes of the tribals during this puja.

Today, Garia Puja is not only a village hill festival, but has become a festival for the entire state. Various clubs and neighborhoods of the city are also organizing Gariya Puja. The whole state is excited about the festival.
