Agartala, February 27, 2024: Former Tipramatha supremo, Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, made a significant statement during his visit to the Amaran Anshan Andolan Mancha (hunger strike protest site) at the base of the Baramura Hills. Debbarman, known for his assertive stance, emphasized that the party’s interests should take precedence over national concerns.

His words echoed through the crowd as he began an indefinite hunger strike on Monday, urging for a constitutional resolution to the Tiprasa issue. The situation has escalated, with Debbarman expressing frustration over the central government’s lack of a positive response despite repeated attempts at dialogue.

“I am sick,” Debbarman stated, “but as long as I am alive, I will continue to fight for the rights of the tribals.” His commitment to their cause suggests a calculated move to leverage tribal sentiments in the political arena.

As the hunger strike continues, the nation watches closely, wondering how this bold stand will impact the delicate balance between party loyalty and national interests.
