Agartala: April 24: In the wake of a recent militant attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in 28 fatalities and 20 serious injuries, former Chief Minister and Politburo member Manik Sarkar has voiced strong criticism of the government’s handling of security in Jammu and Kashmir. Sarkar described the attack as barbaric and inhumane, calling for exemplary punishment for those responsible and urging the government to provide support to the victims’ families.

Sarkar questioned the government’s claims that terrorism had been resolved following the abrogation of Article 370, citing recurring attacks on security personnel as evidence to the contrary. He accused the government of prioritizing political interests over public safety, suggesting that such actions have placed citizens at greater risk.
