Agartala, November 3: The Food Department has taken special initiatives to control the price increase of onion in the market. Maharajganj Bazar Traders Association has opened onion sale center at fair price in Maharajganj Bazar today.

Incidentally, onion prices have increased in the markets of Tripura along with the rest of the country. Suddenly, the price of onion has increased by 20 rupees per kg. It has inspired our people. Therefore, the food department has taken a special initiative to control the price increase of onion in the market.

Director of Food Department Nirmal Adhikari said that the price of onion has increased by Rs 20 per kg in various markets of the state. The Food Department has taken a special initiative to curb onion in the markets.

On this day, he also said, wholesale price of onions will be sold at Rs 51 per kg and in the retail market at Rs 55.
