Agartala, April 28: A young man stands accused of attempting to kill his mother due to greed over property. Following the demise of Hemendra Debnath from North Yogendranagar Nabuday Para area, under the jurisdiction of East Agartala police station, his wife, Anju Rani Debnath, resides on her late husband’s property.

Among Anju Rani’s son, Rahul Debnath has consistently caused disturbances in the household. During his father’s lifetime, Rahul allegedly manipulated property documents to be in his father’s name. However, after Hemendra’s passing five years ago, Rahul reportedly assaulted his mother, Anju Rani Debnath, demanding that she relinquish all property rights. The altercation escalated to physical violence, with Rahul beating his mother and damaging furniture within the house.

On a recent Saturday, Rahul once again initiated a confrontation with his mother, insisting on the property’s transfer. In a fit of rage, he physically attacked her and further vandalized household belongings.

To ensure her safety, Anju Rani Debnath sought refuge at the College Tila Outpost Police Station, where she filed a written complaint against her son. She now seeks a fair trial to address the situation.
