Due to continuous rainfall, red alert issued in four districts

Agartala, November 17: Due to the influence of low pressure over Northwest Bay of Bengal, light and moderate rains in Tripura from yesterday caused a major disruption in public life. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for four districts of Tripura and an alert for thunderstorm and heavy to very heavy rainfall in the remaining four districts for the next 24 hours.

Incidentally, the sky was overcast throughout the day yesterday. It started raining in the afternoon. The level of rain has increased since this morning. Rains throughout the day have had a major impact on public life. The day’s minimum temperature was recorded at 21.2 degrees Celsius today. The minimum temperature was close to normal in all the districts this morning.

Unakoti sees measles surge, health alert issued

According to the Meteorological Department, 9.08 mm rainfall has been recorded in Agartala since yesterday till 8:30 am today. The Meteorological Department also informed that a red alert has been issued in Sipahizla, Dhalai, Gomati and South Tripura districts for the next 24 hours. Remaining four districts are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rains with thundershowers.
